A finish you’ll notice every day

Interior paint is the surface you see and touch most. When it’s done right, rooms feel brighter, cleaner and more finished. When it’s rushed, you see roller marks in the afternoon light, wavy lines along the ceiling and scuffs that won’t wipe off. We take the slower, more careful route: proper prep, the right product for each room, and painters who cut lines by hand.

What our interior painting includes

  • Walls and ceilings in living areas, bedrooms, kitchens, baths, stairwells and high or vaulted spaces
  • Trim, baseboards and crown molding in durable satin or semi-gloss finishes
  • Interior doors and door frames, including door painting and staining
  • Kitchen and bathroom cabinets through our cabinet painting and refinishing service
  • Accent walls and specialty finishes when you want a room to stand out
  • Drywall repairs such as nail pops, cracks, holes and water-damaged ceilings, patched and textured before painting

Prep is where the quality comes from

Before any paint goes on, we cover floors and furniture, remove or mask switch plates and fixtures, fill holes and cracks, sand glossy surfaces, caulk gaps in trim and spot-prime repairs so they don’t show through. Then we apply two finish coats for even color and sheen.

Help choosing colors

Not sure about colors or sheens? Our color consultation helps you pick a palette that works with your light, floors and furnishings, and we can test samples on your walls before you commit.

★★★★★
They sanded the old stain off my double front entry doors and re-stained it to a custom color. It took a few tries to get the right color but they kept at it until it was the right color. They never asked for payment until the job was completely done and I was happy with everything. All the workers were very pleasant to work with.

We recommended Stokeys Painting to a customer of ours a couple years ago and we haven't stopped referring them since! What impressed us the most is their customer service and the way they prep a home. They put a lot of care into protecting your investment and ensuring the longest lasting results possible.

Highly recomend! From start to finish we had the best service. Jaime was always sure to get back to me timely regarding my questions. He also was very gracious when I added, removed and added jobs during the quote process. Art, the project manager checked in and out every day on progress and where they would be starting the next day. The whole team was polite, professional and friendly. Thank you all for beautifying my home!

Interior painting questions

How long does it take to paint the interior of a house?

Most single rooms take one to two days. A full interior of a typical San Diego home usually takes one to two weeks, depending on size, ceiling height, repairs and how many colors you choose. We give you a schedule with your estimate.

Do I need to move my furniture?

No. Please remove small valuables and wall decor if you can. We move and cover furniture, mask floors and fixtures, and put everything back when we're done.

What paint do you use?

We use premium interior paints from established brands and choose the sheen for each surface: flat or matte for most ceilings, eggshell or matte for living areas, and satin or semi-gloss for kitchens, baths, trim and doors so they can be wiped clean.

Can you paint while we live in the house?

Yes. Most of our interior projects are in occupied homes. We work room by room, use low-odor, low-VOC paints where possible, and clean up daily so you can keep using your home.

Is my home old enough to have lead paint?

Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. We follow lead-safe work practices when disturbing older painted surfaces, and we'll talk you through what that means for your project during the walkthrough.
